The Belfast Northstars Baeball and Softball Club have conducted a big recruitment exercise over the off season with the idea to bring more baseball to Belfast; the result is the inclusion of 3 new teams into the B league of Baseball Ireland.
The teams have a combination of veterans and rookie players that would make them an ideal fit into the B league of Baeball Ireland, the teams will still be protected under the Club Umbrella where new GM Jon Carter has taken over.
The 3 teams are the Belfast Stars, coached by Darwin Sanchez; the Belfast Hornets coached by Mark Smith and the Belfast Buccaneers coached by Jose Santos. The players that make up each team were included from the interested players into a pool of players that were then drafted by each coach on the respective teams.
The new season Starts with the Belfast Stars visiting the Ashbourne Giants on 11 April in Corkagh Park (11am start for the first pitch).
The Belfast Buccaneers start their 2015 season by visiting the Cavan Comets on 25 April (11am start)
