Well rested

After a couple of weeks off and a sixth place in the 2017 Ulster Baseball Championship for the A league team

, the Angels and Razorbacks re-enter the fray a few miles apart from each other on Sunday afternoon.

The newly attired Halos have had a tough run of losses in the last few weeks, coming up against league contenders in the Sliders, Brawlers and Cubs – Shane Hanna's team will be hoping for a turn in fortunes against the other half of the Belfast Softball Club, the Aces. Despite being on the wrong end of a few results, the Angels take heart in the ever improving play of Sinead Shackley who is settling in well with double play partner Justin Young in the Angels middle infield. That, alongside improving hitting from Sarah Woods and Amy Simpson will ensure a strong batting order for the Halos this weekend.

A few miles up the M2, the Razorbacks will be taking the field against the Antrim Jets, a team with which the Hogs played to an unsatisfying tie a few weeks ago. No doubt both sides will be looking to walk away with a better result; the Newforge side in the meantime however chalked up a convincing win against the Titans at home a few weeks ago with the Razorback offence clicking as well as it has in the teams two-year existence. With many of the offence now having the taste of the endzone as well as a defence that is now gelling well, they will be a handful for the Jets as they look to climb the table.
