In a game that was characterized by big hits and errors, the Belfast Hornets led by Mark Smith (2HR, 6RBIs) managed a big 11 run 7th inning to secure their second league victory by a final score of 25-8 against the Belfast Stars who saw their record drop to 2-2 and also now have lost to the other two belfast teams.
Also helping with the Hornets offense was Colin Woods who also went deep against the Stars and had a double and 6 RBIs to his name.
The stars could not get their running game established as they got 3 runners caught stealing against 7 stolen bases, however the offense was led by Melvin Woods who connected his 2nd HR of the young season and also managed to bring in 4 runs and stole 2 bases and the red hot David Gray who went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored.
Next up on the spotlight will be the Bucs who host the Comets on Saturday at Hydebank (first pitch of game 1 at 11am) and the Angels who play host on Sunday to the Defending Champions Belfast Brawlers who are coming off a loss to the Cubs - game starts at 2pm at Hydebank
