In a rematch of the previous Wednesday evening, the Northstars (4-8) and Hornets (9-1) faced off at Hydebank on one of the better days of this past, very unsettled, week.
With the sun trying its best to split the clouds, Colin Woods would match up against Will Mitchell as the Northstars tried to derail the expansion teams winning run. The Stars would show quality defence behind Mitchell for a few innings as Woods fought control problems.
Woods helped his cause massively in the third when he would send a line drive over the left field fence to give his team a 3-0 lead. Another four runs and a second roundtripper for Woods, this time over the left centre fence staked his Hornets to an 8-0 advantage.
Mitchell would give way to Kleiber Sanchez but after another couple of runs the game was called. The Northstars will feel a case of wrong place, wrong time against the big righty. The Hornets get to put their feet up for a while but the Northstars now hit the road on Saturday to take on the Ashbourne Giants.
