Belfast American Sports Association is in full swing thanks to Power NI

Power NI, Northern Ireland’s leading energy supplier, gave a helping hand to the Belfast American Sports Association (BASA) by donating £250 to the local sports club. This donation allowed the South Belfast based sports club to purchase much needed sports equipment and subsequently reduce player fees.

Power NI employee, Vicky Thompson nominated BASA to receive the £250 grant through the ‘Helping Hands’ staff sponsorship scheme. Vicky said: “The ‘Helping Hands’ staff sponsorship scheme is a brilliant way for Power NI employees to help local charities. I feel privileged to be part of a company that cares so much about my local community.”

Neil Boyd, BASA Committee member, also said: “A huge thanks to Power NI for the donation of £250. We’re very grateful for the nomination from our player Vicky, which allowed us purchase new equipment.”

The Belfast American Sports Association is a sports club that has one team in the Baseball Ireland B League, one in the Softball Ulster league and one in the Irish American Football Association Division 2.
